Chicken meat has been gaining competitiveness against its main competitors (pork and beef), according to surveys by Cepea. According to the Research Center, while poultry protein has depreciated in December, pork and beef prices have increased. Researchers explain that the weak performance of chicken meat is typical for this period, when demand usually shifts to Christmas poultry and also to pork and beef. In fact, industry agents consulted by Cepea believe that the market should remain slow in the coming weeks and prices should remain weak.
